What it proves. A row on a published record carries the moment it appeared. After that moment it cannot be edited, it cannot be deleted, and it cannot be back-dated. If a forecast on the page differs from the one that was published, the difference is visible — voiding is the only permitted change, it leaves the original row in place, and it requires a reason that is shown with its own timestamp.
What it does not prove. It does not prove that a forecast was made before the event. It proves the row has not been altered since it appeared — nothing more. Publishing a whole history at once does not make those rows prospective, and the record page labels each row either published in advance or imported history, never blended. Only publishing before kickoff establishes that a forecast was made in advance; that is the one claim the badge will not make for you.
This distinction is the whole credibility of the feature, so we state it here as plainly as we can: the badge is a guarantee about tampering, not a guarantee about timing.
